Víctor Gahbler

Mexican documentary photographer.

I’m Víctor Gahbler, a Mexican documentary photographer. My work explores the scars and resilience that shape identity, migration, and Mexico’s living traditions. Since 2021, I’ve been documenting migration across border cities like Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, and Tapachula, focusing on the invisible stories that persist amid abandonment, violence, and hope.

In parallel, I’m developing a long-term project on rituals, processions, and carnivals in rural communities—where faith and rebellion merge in bodies covered in mud, fire, or chains. I work with both digital photography and instant black-and-white Polaroids, embracing imperfection as part of the truth.

I’ve been selected for international portfolio reviews such as the New York Portfolio Review and continue to build a visual archive committed to the realities often overlooked by mainstream media.
